The FMCSA Unified Carrier Registration Agreement (UCRA) will soon be replacing the former SSRS.  The UCRA will include:

•  Motor Carriers,

•  Motor Private Carriers,

• Brokers,

• Equipment Brokers,

• Inter-modal Carriers,

• Transporters of Agricultural Products,

• Leasing Companies, and

• Freight Forwarders.

 Failure to have your UCRA in place on the appointed date could result in costly fines and could VOID your present authority.  

 If you have both Motor Carrier and Broker authority under separate MC numbers, you will need to prepare and file two applications.  

 Very soon, more than one million (1,000,000) private and for-hire transportation companies MUST make application for the UCRA.

 My suggestion is for you to complete and fax the UCRA Form to me NOW.   I will file the information you provide with proof that the UCRA is on file with the FMCSA on your behalf.

 THIS IS THE ONLY NOTICE YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM ME.  YOU MIGHT WANT TO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM NOW AND FAX IT BACK.  I will compare your UCRA form with the Safer System and the L&I to ensure it is correct.
